Yamaha CFX Concert Grand Piano

The nine-foot CFX is a is a full sized concert grand piano characterized by a wide palette of tonal colors and the ability to create the most subtle expressive nuances. The CFX can project over the sound of a symphony orchestra, even in very large halls.  The CLP Clavinova puts the majesty of this $180,000 concert grand right at your fingertips.

Bösendorfer Imperial Concert Grand Piano

Bösendorfer has been perfecting the craft of piano creation for over 185 years. The legendary 97-key Imperial Grand has the largest soundboard of any piano and rich history of artist endorsements from Bartók, Debussy, Ravel and Franz Liszt to Tori Amos and Oscar Peterson. This $300,000 masterpiece sounds amazing on the CLP Clavinova.

No Maintenance!

SAVE $1000’s OVER THE LIFESPAN OF THE PIANO!! Even the best pianos are in jeopardy of warping, squeaking, going out of tune, having sticky keys and becoming less fun to play when those things are happening. If you tune your piano twice a year at $125 a pop, that’s a $1,500 expense over 5 years. It’s extremely rare for a Clavinova to have any issues at all.

Silent Practice!

If the piano is getting played for 20min, 45min, or hours a day, the noise of the piano can be disruptive to the home and the noise of the home can be distracting for the pianist. When you need to practice and the tv is on, the other kids are doing homework and the baby is sleeping, you’ll be grateful for headphones. Yamaha uses Binaural sampling which is a fancy way to describe a sophisticated recording technique using a special combination of microphones to reproduce the sound of an acoustic piano to the human ear through headphones.

Virtual Resonance Modeling

VRM adds the richness and tonal quality to the high definition sound of the instrument. VRM calculates the various states of strings for each of the 88 notes on the keyboard, from one instant to the next, and timing and depth of the damper pedals pressed. The enhanced VRM now calculates aliquot resonance in the upper octaves, and the full resonance of the soundboard, rim, and frame. This technology allows for vivd, bright, richly-varied expression that reflect the limitless number of factors inherent in piano performance.

Natural Wood X keyboard

Just as with grand pianos, the material used for Natural Wood X keyboards is cut from wood that has been carefully dried specifically for use in making musical instruments. The Yamaha Natural Wood X keyboard features the same action and three-sensor configuration as Graded Hammer 3X keyboards, which accurately senses and interprets the behavior of the keyboard for a response that feels very similar to that of a grand piano. This allows you to vividly perform smooth, flowing passages or light trills, techniques used in many classical and jazz pieces
